“ a compromise formula which includes a proposal to take top 20% students based on percentile ranking of respective boards for preparing the merit list”

How meaningless is this solution ?. Higher education in India will become the domain of the school toppers and Children of affluent parents and we wonder why half a million students leave India to study undergraduate courses overseas. Children who will never return to a country that shunned them.

Is this is what we call inclusive in RTE ?.

God Save India

Inclusive education does not mean that everyone must enter, or pass out from, an IIT. It only means that if you wanted to, you could have a shot at it. The child labourer is excluded because she can never dream of entering an IIT; she may absolutely hate IIT, but not trying to join an IIT should be her decision. Even if there is only one IIT train, every child must have access to the platform where the train comes. Of course, not everyone will get on to the train but everyone knows what to do to have a shot at the train. This is called inclusion in education. Everyone must go to school till class 12; those who work hard, and are willing to work harder still, will join an IIT. Others will, by choice, decide not to work that hard and become economists.

All children are born equal and mindless politicians are trying to grade the children and youth of the nation and create a new Brahamanical Caste system in Education, which is pandering to the neo rich who can afford to send their children to elite private schools and Coaching schools.

55 - Bansals Response to ISEET proposed by HRD Ministry

Those who want to scrap JEE and implement ISEET to kill the coaching classes and to bring a positive change in the IIT admission system, please look at the latest advertisement by the famous BANSAL CLASSES KOTA .

Govt proposes ISEET, Bansal proposes satellite learning programme for ISEET. (And I am sure this satellite learning programme will be more productive and successful than the NPTEL type e learning programmes by MHRD).

And this is just the first answer of coachings to the govt, in near future they may devise various other ways and prove the ISEET wrong. Again you will ask for reforms in ISEET. I humbly request you all to realise the truth that you people are cutting the wrong tree. Again I am repeating that the problem has been detected rightly but the solution proposed is wrong.

These coaching people are always one step ahead than the national policy makers. Whether you accept it or not, I can tell you that ISEET will do no good to the IIT system, it will breed more coaching classes, more stress on students, more weight on parents pocket and lower quality of students entering the JEE.

If ISEET is implemented, it will not emancipated the thousands of engineering colleges and raise the level of their students to the IIT level but actually pull down the IITs to the level of these thousands of other engineering colleges.

Please think wisely once again. Still the plan is not implemented, lets not completely oppose the changes in JEE but atleast postpone it. Let us make efforts to stop the govt. from implementing it in 2013 because if this decision later proves to be wrong, it will be too late to do anything.  We can start a new survey, take in to consideration the opinion of every stake holder of IIT system : students, alumni, parents, coaching classes, faculty members, MHRD, industries, etc. Let us make panels comprising of members from all these groups, which will identify the problems in the system from different perspectives and then we can collectively come to a single set of solution. This solution will definitely be more productive and efficient than ISEET.

I am only an 3rd year student but my wisdom says that amidst such discontent among a large no. of IIT students, alumni and faculty regarding this ISEET, it should be postponed for atleast one year.
The solution will be sustainable when it aims to satisfy everyone.
